About

Jelly

Before I became a counsellor I worked as a specialist nurse in the UK, in both operating theatres and post-operative recovery.  The role taught me a lot about resilience, connection and the importance of empathy as a health professional.

A sudden, close bereavement seven years ago gave me the opportunity to re-evaluate my life and my purpose within it.  I decided that although I very much wished to continue helping people, I wanted to do it in a calmer and more creative, holistic, setting.  To this end, I trained first as a holistic counsellor with the Holistic Healing College, London; and then as a pluralistic counsellor with Chrysalis Not for Profit.  Today, as well as my private practice, I continue to volunteer as a counsellor for London Friend, one of the UK's oldest LGBTQ+ charities.

I am grateful for all the experience I have gained, both personally and professionally, to aid and guide me as a counsellor.  However, I am always learning and open to new knowledge and insights: whether that be through appropriate continuing professional development to expand on my skill-set, or the inspiration I find in my clients' own stories.

I have chosen the Bear for my logo as this represents a powerful totem in terms of what I would like to bring to my clients: namely,  healing, nurturing and ultimately, personal power.  Additionally, the Bear has great importance in Finland as an emblem; and I want to respect and give thanks for the beautiful country that has welcomed me.

I am happy and grateful to be on my life's path; and eager to help guide you along yours.
